The organ music from the motion picture TROUBLED WATER

The organ music is in a sense one of the main characters in the motion picture TROUBLED WATER. Possessing a distinct personality and playing a unique role the music interacts with the drama and influences the other characters. Working on the script brought me to Iver Kleive. His experience in church music and the influence of jazz was a perfect match for the characters. Recording Simon & Garfunkel’s "Bridge over Troubled Waters" in Bergen Cathedral left a powerful and lasting impression on me. Erik Poppe, director

Recorded over a period of 10 days in August 1969 & released on October 10th of the same year "In The Court Of The Crimson King" stands as one of the defining albums of British rock music & one of the finest debut albums of all time. Described at the time as "an uncanny masterpiece" by Pete Townshend, the album has achieved legendary status over the years. It is the only studio document of an extraordinary year in the life of King Crimson; a year that began with the group's first rehearsals on January 13th, included a residency at the Marquee Club, a concert in Hyde Park with The Rolling Stones, the recording and release of the album and ended with the dissolution of the lineup at the close of Crimson's 1st American tour in December.
In the 40 years since its release 'In The Court of the Crimson King' has never been out of print or unavailable in any of the world's main music markets & continues to enjoy consistently high sales.

With its grandiose aggregate of clashing styles, whirling free-form improvisations, soaring classical themes and dramatic showcases and showdowns, Lizard, is even by today’s standards, a remarkable and extraordinary album.
Given the ambitious ground it attempted to cover, it’s perhaps no surprise that King Crimson’s third studio album still has the capacity to polarise opinion amongst enthusiasts, and even those who helped make the record in September and October 1970...

LIZARD can be seen as the third album in the trilogy that makes up Crimson's first phase, which began with IN THE COURT OF THE CRIMSON KING. The musical and lyrical concepts are more complex than on the first two albums, the arrangements more elaborate. Pete Sinfield's lyrics, already full of surreal mystical imagery, changed by turns more inaccessible and slightly psychedelic. Horns play a much larger role on LIZARD, the horn section injecting some punch into the production, and Mel Collins' flute and sax emerging as an important solo voice. Things turn slightly harsher on tracks like "Indoor Games," a catalogue of people's private indiscretions, and "Happy Family" an allegory obviously about the then-current breakup of the Beatles. As always, there's a beautiful ballad ("Lady of the Dancing Water," singer Gordon Haskell's finest moment) included amidst all the uproar. Crimson's peers Yes are even represented, as Jon Anderson makes a guest vocal appearance on the title cut, a throwback to the semi-mythical lyric approach of KC's debut.

Robert Fripp: guitar, mellotron & devices
Mel Collins: saxes & flute
Gordon Haskell: bass & vocals
Andy McCulloch: drums
Peter Sinfield: words
Robin Miller: oboe & cor anglais
Mark Charig: cornet
Nick Evans: trombone
Keith Tippett: Piano
Jon Anderson: vocal

Released in 1974 after King Crimson had “ceased to exist”, Red remains a remarkably powerful document of a group quitting at the top of its game. The grinding crunch of Red appears to anticipate much of the heavy metal scene whilst the epic Starless brings together several strands of the group’s musical history.
Including powerful contributions from Ian McDonald, Mel Collins, David Cross, Mark Charig and Robin Miller, Red form what is arguably the definitive statement of the ‘70s period Crimson. Bill Bruford recently described the album in just five words: Prescient, short and bass heavy.”
Aside from Steven Wilson’s 5.1 mix, the DVDA features the original album in Hi-Res stereo and additional tracks (including the previously unreleased pre-overdub version of Red) as well as 30 minutes of footage from French TV officially available for the first time. Tracks include LTIA PtII, Lament, Improv, Night Watch and Starless.

Released in 1972 as an ode to fallen brother Duane Allman, Eat A Peach is widely considered among the very best of the Allman Brothers’ vast output. The record is split between new-at-the-time studio recordings and classics recorded live from the Fillmore East sessions. There’s also a round of studio tracks recorded before Duane’s death...
...Eat a Peach' is a classic rock album.  They just don't get much better.  The SACD Hybrid release improves so much on the previous incarnations, it is a must-have for anyone who considers their collection to be complete, or even to contain just the essentials.  This disc earns my highest recommendation, and should be owned by everyone reading this review.  No excuses.  This is a must have.
